  • Dr. Rifat Chalabi co-founded Chinook Sciences in 1998 and led its growth, expanding its applications to various industries including industrial gases.

    Dr. Chalabi co-invented the RODECS® system and co-developed nearly 200 patents in the field of waste processing, pyrolysis, combined Hydrogen and activated carbon. 

    Dr. Chalabi pioneered hydrogen intelligence and molecular recycling concepts. He had numerous publications on combustion, industrial gasses, and nuclear mathematics.

    Before Chinook, he was the lead scientist at industrial gas company BOC developing hydrogen and oxygen applications

    As a nuclear scientist, Dr. Chalabi co-developed the nuclear reactors neutronics model for U.S. National Labs,

    Dr. Chalabi holds a Ph.D., and M.Sc.. In Nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University.

  • Dr. Meng is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of the Chinook group.

    Dr. Meng is specialized in the science behind waste pyrolysis, the reaction thermodynamics of hydrogen generation, and kinetic chemical interactions inside the RODECS®.

    Prior to founding the Group, Dr. Meng was a scientist in the BOC Group, where he developed theoretical models for combustion and industrial furnaces Dr. Meng has over 25 years' experience within the renewable energy sector and has authored several papers and patents in the field of combustion, furnaces, and thermal processes.

    Dr. Meng holds a doctor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique, Montreal, Quebec.

    Dr. Meng holds post-doctoral degree in combustion applications from Brigham Young university in Utah.

Dr. Fanli Meng

  • Zubair Adam is the Group CFO and is a member of the strategic decision group.

    Mr. Adam is an accomplished finance executive and a qualified Accountant with several years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

    Mr. Adam has a proven track record of success in senior finance roles within renowned organizations and has significant experience in international finance in the UK, USA and Canada.

    Mr. Adam led Chinook’s UK Financial team since 2015, leveraging his expertise to drive financial performance and streamline processes.

    As a senior financial officer, Mr. Adam was instrumental in restructuring the group to leverage its strength and consolidating its operation.

    Mr. Adam holds a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance and is a Fellow Member of the ACCA in the UK.

Zubair Adam

  • Mr Bacon is the engineering director of the Chinook group. He has been with the group for over 19 years,

    Throughout his time he has worked on the development, design, installation and commissioning of the group’s technologies, and has been involved in the delivery of 16 RODECS® plants world-wide.

    He is involved at various technical stages of the project’s development from the initial project scoping, defining the project’s technical detail, to the implementation of the engineering work and the final plant construction and handover.

    Mr.Bacon has over 30 years' experience within the engineering sector with a broad background and experience in engineering which includes mechanical design, process development, controls, instrumentation, software engineering, installation and commissioning.

    Prior to Chinook, His career began in Aerospace engineering before moving into automotive manufacturing at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, GKN automotive cast iron and sintered metal components, and Aluminium extrusion and product industries at Hepworth Vaillant Group.

  • Dr. Simon Mandeville heads Chinook commercial development and is a member of the strategic decision group.

    Dr. Mandeville joined Chinook in 2013 as an Industrial Chemistry scientist and ran the Nottingham-UK facility to identify and fingerprint various waste feedstocks to produce ultra-clean hydrogen-rich syngas from the RODECS plant

    Dr. Mandeville led the development and commercialization of the group's activated carbon and the integration of hydrogen and activated carbon to produce low-carbon intensity hydrogen.

    Before Chinook, he was UK technical Sales Manager for Blue Planet, promoting environmental waste treatment technologies..

    Dr. Mandeville holds Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Warwick and a M.Phil. and B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Bradford.

Dr. Simon Mandeville

  • Tim Chapman is Chinook Sales director, he is in charge of introducing and expanding Chinook Hydrogen projects to customers especially in the UK and the USA.

    Prior to joining Chinook, Mr. Chapman was the Business Development Manager of H2 Green, which is a hydrogen and energy storage developer company.

    He has over 5 years of experience working with business development within the energy sector, where he has hold the position as Business Development Manager in Ecotricity, simPRO Software Ltd and Energy Innovations UK and the role as Head of Energy Services in Haven Power Ltd.

    Mr. Chapman has over 25 years′ experience working with sales and have had different positions such as Business Development Consultant in BioMicrobe BV, Regional Director Middel East and West Africa in Antec International and General Manager in Middle East Telecommunications Co.

    Mr. Chapman holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom.
