Cooperation MOU between Air Water, Bee’ah and chinook

BEEAH Group, a Middle Eastern sustainability pioneer, has partnered with UK-based Chinook Hydrogen and Japanese conglomerate Air Water to advance the production of fuel cell grade hydrogen from waste wood and plastic. They have signed an MoU to form a consortium that will oversee the Middle East's first waste-to-hydrogen plant in Sharjah, UAE. The collaboration brings together BEEAH's waste management expertise, Chinook Sciences' RODECS pyrolysis and gasification process, and Air Water's Hydrogen Refinement technology to produce high-quality green hydrogen. This initiative aligns with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative and hydrogen leadership roadmap, aiming to produce and export green hydrogen through clean technologies and establish the UAE as a global hub for green hydrogen.

The Sharjah plant, announced in May 2021, will not only tackle waste management challenges but also contribute to the global green hydrogen market, expected to reach USD 1 trillion by 2030. The project will incorporate Air Water's advanced hydrogen refinement technology to meet fuel cell grade standards, thus enabling emissions-free mobility. Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of BEEAH Group, emphasizes the project's alignment with the UAE's green hydrogen strategy, while Air Water and Chinook Sciences bring extensive experience in hydrogen production and refinement processes. The collaboration aims to make a significant environmental impact and positions the UAE to capture 25% of the global green hydrogen market.
